Although listed as a Sniper rifle. In reality the PTRS-41 is actually an Anti-tank rifle.
In 1941 during World War II, the PTRS-41 begun to be used more widely, especially in the Eastern Front. It was easy to use and produce, even though it was not the most effective weapon of its kind at the time. It was especially effective on assaults against supply trucks and small convoys, but had the ability to damage the German's tanks. Other forces soon took to using the weapon as well, the Germans used some and Chinese and used them during the Korean War.
The PTRS-41 is unlocked at level 57. It has no attachments, and only comes equipped with a scope, differing it from the other snipers in Call of Duty: World at War.
