This is the average of the other LMG's, with its medium recoil and power compared to the M60E4. It also has a good iron sight that allows you too see around what your aiming at unlike the M60E4. Although the recoil is abit more agressive than the SAW this gun is tameable and deadly.

You can unlock a series of attachments for the RPD, which are unlocked at 25 kills, 75 kills and 150 kills. These are:

Red Dot Sight: 25 kills

Grip: 75 kills

ACOG Scope: 150 kills

Apart from these attachments, you can also unlock camoflages for the RPD. They are unlocked getting a certain amount of headshots.

Digital: Unlocked at 25 headshots

Blue Tiger: Unlocked at 75 headshots

Red Tiger: Unlocked at 150 headshots
