[edit] Assault Rifles

M16A4: Red Dot sight
Pistol: Any Pistol really, preferably the Desert Eagle if unlocked.
Perk 1: Bandolier
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Deep Impact/Steady Aim

Now this setup is perfect is you're more of a long-ranged fighter. The M16 is the definition of accuracy in this game, other then the Sniper Rifles - Red Dot sight is a must. Also use The Bandolier so you do not run out of that precious ammo. Use Stopping Power for a quick-trigger kill (1 3-shot round into someone and they are down). And lastly, use Deep Impact if you plan to shoot through walls, and you're set. You can also try out the Steady Aim with this gun, it is very helpful if you dare to use it in a more enclosed map.

G3 Red dot sight or silencer
Pistol USP 45 with silencer
Perk 1: Bomb Squad
Perk 2: UAV Jammer
Perk 3: Last Stand or Dead Silence

This is a good class to use for Hardcore gametypes such as Search and Destroy. With the G3, it's best used in medium to long-range maps like Bog or Overgrown. The G3 is perfect for long-range targets, and the USP combined with Bomb Squad are for occasions when you need to move indoors. The silencers and UAV Jammer also make you virtually impossible to detect, even moreso if you choose to use Dead Silence. Last Stand is also a useful tool to use in Hardcore matches to prevent enemies from getting kills in Hardcore Team Deathmatch. Just have a teammate finish you off and deny the enemy more points to win.

M16A4 Silencer
Pistol USP 45 with silencer
Perk 1: Bandolier
Perk 2: UAV Jammer
Perk 3: Dead Silence

Pretty much the most effiective set-up I've used for a medium range wannabe sniper, but with enough speed to stop close targets. The UAV jammer is not a requirement, when combined with silencers and Dead Silencers, so Double Tap is an option, with bandoliers, you can afford to Spam shoot any target. Favours Close-Medium range battles, such as Bog, where you can make use of the murky atmosphere to your best effect. Works well with knife work.

[edit] SMGs

MP5 V1: Silenced

Pistol: `` `` ``
Perk 1: Bandolier/Bombsquad
Perk 2: Stopping power/ UAV jammer
Perk 3: Steady Aim/Dead Silence

MP5 V2:: Red Dot/Nothing

Pistol: Any
Perk 1: Bandolier
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Deep Impact

This is a very good class for small to medium maps. Unlike V1 of the MP5 classes, this one is a real powerhouse of one. If you are sick of being killed by someone when you are sure you hit them more times and first, then this is your weapon. This will make your opponents start scratching their heads and asking themself "How did he do that? I shot him first!".

P90: Silenced

Pistol: USP .45 Silenced
Perk 1: Bandolier
Perk 2: UAV Jammer
Perk 3: Dead Silence

[edit] LMGs

RPD: Grip

Pistol: `` `` ``
Perk 1: X3 Frags/X2 RPG
Perk 2: Stopping Power/Juggernaut
Perk 3: Deep Impact

Now for this type of gun, you don't really need Red Dot seeing that the Iron Sights are very accurate (especially the ones on the RPD). 3 Frags to support your teammates or you can always bring along an RPG - that helicopter won't last too long with you blazing your bullets at it and shooting an RPG or 2. You can use Stopping Power or Juggernaut, seeing that the gun itself is powerful enough. Add Deep Impact and those seeking refuge behind walls won't stand a living chance.

[edit] Shotguns

M1014: Grip

Pistol: `` `` ``
Perk 1: X3 Special Grenades
Perk 2: Stopping Power or Sleight of hand
Perk 3: Deadsilence

This set is for the type of shooter who likes to take risks, run in jumping and shooting. The iron sights are not really needed unless you sneak up on a camper and can guarentee a headshot. Sleight of hand lets you reload the short clip capacity when needed but Stopping Power also works for the extra damage.

[edit] Sniper Rifles

R700: Nothing

Pistol: Any Pistol silenced
Perk 1: Claymore X2
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Iron Lungs

M40A3: Nothing

Pistol: Any Pistol silenced
Perk 1: Bandolier
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Iron Lungs

If you're more of a sniper, the M40 is for you. It is extremely precise for a bolt-round rifle. Any pistol will do, but make sure it is silenced if you're more of an infiltrator. I always seem to run out of ammo while sniping so Bandolier is a must-have. Stopping Power so that wherever you aim you're sure to kill the enemy in one shot, and Iron Lungs for even more added precision. I can get an easy 25+ kills with this setup.
