USP .45

The USP .45 is a pistol manufactured by H&K. USP stands for 'Universal Self-Loading Pistol', and the '.45' refers to the caliber .45 ACP rounds the pistol uses. The USP has been manufactured since 1993, and there are several variants designed for different purposes, not all of which shoot the same ammunition type. The USP .45 appears in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Damage 40-20
Magazine size 12 rounds
Reload 1.61 seconds, 1.92 seconds when empty
Unlocked at Rank 4 (with Create a Class)

In the campaign, the USP .45 is the only sidearm available with a silencer. This silenced weapon appears in All Ghillied Up, amongst other missions. The gun is also found without a silencer.

In multiplayer, the USP .45 is one of four available sidearms; the other three being the M1911, the M92 and the Desert Eagle. The USP is often used to to its range and its higer megazine capacity. Compared to the M1911, the USP has five more rounds in a clip, as well as greater range, but it also has greater recoil. It is not as powerful as the Desert Eagle, but it is more powerful than the other two pistols. Whilst it's minimum and maximum damage are the same as the M92 and the M1911, its damage drops off at a greater range. It has weak hip fire accuracy.

It can only accept one attachment; the silencer.

The USP .45 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer
Damage 40-25
Magazine size 12 rounds (18 with Extended Mags)
Reload 1.65 seconds, 2.2 seconds when empty
Unlocked at Rank 4 (with Create a Class)

In the campaign, the USP .45 is always found with the Tactical Knife attachment. It also sometimes appears with an added silencer, such as in the Spec Ops mission Evasion.

In multiplayer, the USP has longer range than its main comptetitor the M9, and a lower hipfire accuracy. The USP is the only secondary in the handgun (pistol) category to accept a working silencer; the silencer on the M9 does work in making the gun quieter, but gunshots still show up on the radar. The .44 Magnum and the Desert Eagle do not accept silencers.
